How many ways could you travel from home to school? Depending on where you live, you might be able to walk all the way, catch a bus, catch a train, travel by car, ride your bike, go on roller-blades...

If you could choose any of these, which would you pick? Which method of transport is the most sustainable? Do you ever think about sustainability when you choose how to travel?

When the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales needed to find a way for visitors to travel up to its site, it was determined to find a sustainable method of transport. The solution - a water-balanced railway - is a great example of sustainable technology in action.
